The Seattle Laestadian Lutheran Church Choir (SLLC) has met for over 25 years now!
Welcome to our choir page! We are a Laestadian Lutheran Church Choir and meet in the Fall on Mondays from September through December, culminating in our annual Christmas recital, We also have more recently started a Spring Choir.
The adult choir learns both acapella and accompanied sacred carols and hymns. We sing primarily in English, but often Spanish, Finnish and Swedish carols are performed as well. Our youth choir (grades 4th-8th) sings in addition to the adult choir at the annual Christmas Recital, adding much joy to our season's evening of Christmas in song. Many years we also have an instrumental group! The Spring Choir is meets in February-May. Our music is directed by Ingrid Ojala, Eden Ojala, Beth Ojala, Saara Ojalehto & Elle Ojala. Our choir is accompanied by Stephanie Westerinen, Eden Ojala & Saara Ojalehto. We welcome you to join the choir & instrumental groups!
The recital has become a much anticipated event, both for our church members and our friends & family. The Recital this year will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church (due to our church fire) on 12/2/23 & include a dessert buffet catered by our own talented chefs & bakers. We hope you will join us, either in our choirs, or at our annual Recital- where we share our deep joy in Christ's birth through carols and hymns of Christmas.
